Where to buy an iPhone 4 in Germany
It’s been a while since I wanted to buy an iPhone 4. First, I checked the T-mobile website, but it said I had to wait 9 weeks to get one. So, I checked the internet to find another way to buy an iPhone. I found some people saying they could buy one offline. So, when I went to Munich last week, I went to a T-mobile store to see if they had an iPhone. They had none, but they said they could order one, and I would get it in three weeks. Three weeks sounds better than 9 weeks, but I wanted to get it now. I also checked Vodafone store. Vodafone Germany does not sell iPhone officially, but I’ve heard they could arrange a deal through a third party(basically, since Vodafone Italy sell unlocked iPhones, they will sell you an unlocked iPhone if you get a contract with them.) They did not have one either.
Finally, I went to the Apple store in Rosenstrasse. They had both 16GB and 32GB models. I had to wait for a while in a queue, because there were only two sales representatives and it took almost an hour to process an order. When it became my turn, I showed them my passport with my German visa, my EC card(bank card), and my proof of residency(my visa does not show my German address). The sales representative said it might not be approved, since my visa expires in one year, and I am getting a two years contract. But it went through without problem.
Now I am a happy owner of iPhone 4. So, if you are in Germany, and if you want to get an iPhone now, go to an Apple store.
