New Version Of The Online Bible Released

I just received a message from Online Bible that informs the developer of Ken Hamel passed into his rest.

I came to know the Online Bible in the late 90’s, and since then, I used this program to get to know the Word of God better. I tried other Bible programs, but they were too expensive(like Logos Bible) or too complex(like Accordance Bible), or too limited(like MacSword). The Online Bible hits the sweet spot where the price and usability and expandability meet. Even though I will move into Logos Bible one day(their modules are just incredible), right now, I am very happy with my Online Bible.

The message from Online Bible says that Ken Hamel’s philosophy behind Online Bible was not greed, but grace. I believe the reasonable price of OLB ($39.95 with basic modules or $89.95 with basic modules plus NIV, NASB, NKJB, NLT and NRSV) is a living proof of his philosophy.

The development of Universal version has been delayed for a couple of years(and I read Ken Hamel has been working hard on this project in spite of his deteriorating health). But, I am glad to hear that now there is a development team in place that will carry on Ken Hamel’s spirit. Actually, they announced Online Bible version 4.

I pray they will continue to improve upon this already impressive and economic Bible program. May God bless their work richly.
