HP Color Laserjet CP1515n review

When the old Canon Pixma ip5000 died, we bought a HP Color Laserjet CP1515n. It costed around €185 from ebay.de. It was a display model, but almost as good as new. A brand new model will cost around €220 in Germany.
The installatioin process went very smooth. The manual says, “Install the software first, then plug in the USB cable”, so I followed it, and then my MBP recognized the printer without problem.
It was also easy to connect it to the network. I just plugged in a LAN cable into it. Then my MBP found it easily through bonjour technology. Now I can print from my laptop wirelessly.
It is a very solid machine, that does its job meticulously. I’ve never had any surprises. It is absolutely quite when it is not printing, even though it makes funny loud noise maybe once in a day if you leave it on all the time. It takes maybe half a minute to warm up when you first switch it on, and it prints out around 10 pages(black) per minutes.
I do not like the quality of color photos from this printer. But, considering this printer is relatively cheap, and we do not print color photos very often, I can live with that. If you really need a printer that can print good quality color photos, you may need to look for different model.
All in all, I like this printer very much. It is like a very quite worker that does its duty faithfully. I wish my other gadgets were like this printer.
