SRS iWow - iTunes crash problem

I like SRS iWow. It improves the sound quality of songs you play through iTunes. But, recently, when I tried to use it, it crashed iTunes. So, I could not use it at all.

I tried to fix the problem by reinstalling SRS iWOW. Since there is a new version (3.0), I tried installing that, too. I even removed xiphQT plugin, which enables QuickTime to play ogg file, and Volume Logic iTunes plugin. But, still the problem persisted.

The customer service of SRS Labs, which is the maker of SRS iWow, is very weak. There is no discussion forum on their Web site, where users meet and share ideas. And I was not willing to send them an inquiry, because many people on the web said they did not respond promptly. I was so frustrated that I almost gave up using SRS iWow. Then, it occurred to me that maybe reinstallation of iTunes itself was the solution. iTunes is a solid program, but maybe something have gone wrong. So, I download the program, and installed it. Then, it worked!

It was such an obvious fix, but for some reason I couldn’t see it earlier. But, as they say, better late than never, I guess.

P.S. I was glad to see the comment written by the PR Manager at SRS Labs. In response, I softened my words. I still hope they will add forum to their Web site.
