How to improve the sound quality of Apple In-Ear headphones

I love my Apple In-Ear headphones. Considering the price ($80), they sound quite good. But, you can make them sound even better. For that, You need to replace the standard rubber tips with foam tips. Foam tips are better in many ways. First, they block surround noise (you will not envy expensive “noise-cancellation headphones”), second, they are more comfortable and fit your ears better (because foam tips are more flexible), third, they sound better. I don’t understand the acoustics behind it, but In-Ear headphones with rubber tips sound very dry, while the same headphones with foam tips sound rich and almost more 3D.

So, you need to buy or make foam tips. If you have some extra cache, you can order some from the intenet. If you want to save money, click here and follow the instruction. It is not very complicate- just buy ear plugs, make a hole, then cut in half. Since ear plugs are so cheap, you wouldn’t sweat if you lose some of them (which is bound to happen at some point).
